Quote: banksie wrote We have certainly learnt that a sporting calendar is just a guide to how things may play out in current circumstances.

After Supercars dripped a couple of 2021 dates, Auto Action has published what they believe is the current 2021 calendar, due to be announced this week. Notably, Phillip Island misses out once again, as does Sandown. Newcastle is expected to return and be the season opener in 2022. Bathurst is the only endurance event.

    PROVISIONAL 2021 SUPERCARS CHAMPIONSHIP
    Feb 26-28 Bathurst 500
    Mar 18-21 AGP
    Apr 10-11 Symmons Plains
    May 8-9 Tailem Bend
    May 29-30 Winton
    Jun 19-20 Darwin
    Jul 9-11 Townsville
    Aug 20-22 Sydney Motorsport Park
    Sep 11-12 Wanneroo
    Oct 7-10 Bathurst 1000
    Nov 6-7 Auckland
    Dec 3-5 Gold Coast

Following Bathurst, a 4-week gap till hopefully racing in NZ, followed by a 4-week gap to finish the season on the Gold Coast. It is a long time to conclude the championship and will hurt momentum and interest in the sport to finally declare a champion.
