Shannon's Nationals
Here are the practice times from today's sessions..we have some "super" competitors in our group.Jack Perkins and Tony Ricciardello, naturally these guys are at the top.
Matt's times, session 1. 1:52:8514 session 2. 1:50:6428 session 3. 1:51:5631 Had a few minor little hiccups,Matt thinks it may be the spark plugs;so they are getting changed tomorrow. We have two qualifying sessions tomorrow and one race.

Re: Shannon's Nationals
Qualifying session 1 completed.Matt placed 4th but then Perkins and Ricciardello did not come out.
Track conditions were pretty damp after the overnight and morning rain. The weather has cleared,so track conditions are improving. Today's time was..1:53:2779 Once the big guns do their session, final placings will be set.

Re: Shannon's Nationals
Was a pretty disappointing weekend, looks like the "O" rings have started to deteriorate (at least 2 of them) as "Elena" was blowing a bit of smoke. Matt saw one of the flaggies waving his hand past his nose,so when he looked back;he could see blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. So, he backed off and pitted.Which was a pity as he would have finished 6th in race 1,had no chance of catching Tony Ricciardello or Jack Perkins;but it would have been a very credible finish.Managed to find a good lap speed of 1:48,which is where he really wanted to be..so we know the car speed is good. After changing the plugs,we still had the issue,so had to withdraw from Sundays racing.Hopefully it's only the "O"rings going and not anything major.
We have until next year to get things fixed as the first round is not until March.

Re: Shannon's Nationals
Good and informative report FF. Is Matt still campaigning the Evo 3 in production car specs in Sports Sedans?

Re: Shannon's Nationals
The Evo V,yes...and he now has an engine from an Evo IX to eventually go into it.Need to do some upgrades as the V's on-board computer won't recognise the IX's engine going into it,something about not knowing the Motec system. His aim is to go after the Class 1 boys, the likes of Birel Cetin,Shiels and Steve Lacey, all of whom have really powerful;purpose built racers.
