| Name: |
Jake Moore - 1991 - 2006 |
Jake was an avid Ford man. He attended
every round he could, and has been to every Bathurst since he
was 6. He has been a pro go karter since the age of 7, winning
5 out of 8 of his championships, including this year's.
He has surfed since he was only 5, played guitar since he
was 6. Jake was only a fortnight from his 16th birthday when
a drunk driver T-boned the car he was travelling in, causing
a massive crash. Jake survived the initial impact, but died
later in hospital after many attempts to save him.
He leaves behind a large family and girlfriend of more than
5 years. The family is devastated but determined to celebrate
his life and achievements. |

| November 2006 |
| Name: |
Mark Porter (1975 - 2006) |
The V8 Daily Dump awards the November
Member of the month posthumously to Gold Coast V8 Supercar driver
Mark Porter.
Mark passed away from injuries sustained in a crash at Mount
Panorama, Bathurst in the first of the development series races
during the Supercheap Auto 1,000 of 2006.
The 31 year old former New Zealander, who had moved to Australia
from New Zealand more than two years ago lived at Hope Island
on the Gold Coast. He is survived by his wife Adrienne and their
12 month old son Flynn. We at the V8 Daily Dump extend our sympathies
to Marks loved ones in this terrible time.
Mark was a passionate motorsport fan who died doing what he
loved. We can think of no more fitting recipient of the November
V8 Daily Dump Member of the month than Mark Porter. |

| October 2006 |
| Name: |
Peter Brock (1945 - 2006) |
| Nickname: |
Brocky |
The V8 Daily Dump honours Peter Brock
who dies tragically on September 8, 2006 by posthumously awarding
him the October Member of the month. It is doubtful
that there ever was a greater fan as Brock lived, breathed and
even died in Australian motorsport.
Australian Touring Car Champion:
1974
1975
1978
1980
Sandown Endurance Winner:
1973
1975
1976
1977

Bathurst 1000 Endurance Winner:
1972
1975
1978
1979
1980
1982
1983
1984
1987
The most popular figure in Australian motorsport will be remembered
with a vacant place on the front row of the grid, eight of his
nine winning cars taking a lap of the Mount Panorama circuit,
a homily, a minute's silence, a video tribute and the inaugural
Peter Brock - King of the Mountain Trophy for the
winner of the 2006 Bathurst 1000 race. There are also the tens
of thousands of tributes inscribed by fans on the wall at Brock
Skyline, the highest point of the mountain circuit that Brock
ruled for two decades. However fans personally choose to remember
the King of the Mountain, we at the V8 Daily Dump felt there
was no more fitting tribute in the month of the Great Race than
to award Peter Brock the October Member of the month.
RIP Peter Brock, February 26, 1945 - September 8, 2006. |

About me:
Hi this is Old Timer with his favourite car the
Ford BA Futura at Australias most famous motor racing
track. (phto taken Aug 2006) The other photos were taken at
Oran Park 2006.
I live in Campbelltown NSW which is approx 50Km SW from the
Sydney CBD. I am approx 20 mins drive to Oran Park 35 mins
drive to Eastern Creek and approx 2 hrs expressway driving
to Wakefield Park. I have the best of all worlds. I am married
with two children, a son aged 24 and a daughter aged 20.
I seriously started to follow motor racing when the Armstrong
500 moved to Bathurst in 1963. I used to drive from Goulburn
to Bathurst (about 6 hours on terrible gravel roads) in my
old 1952 Ford Zephyr just to watch the great race.
I have lost count of the number of times I have been to Bathurst
but must admit I have not been for the last 3 years.
In 1968 I became a great fan of Speedway and bought my own
saloon car (FJ Holden) in 1970. At that time Saloon Cars were
booming in Speedway with a number of standout drivers making
their way through the ranks. John Harvey and Brian Callaghan
were two drivers who went on to road racing.
I find it very hard to define the best driver,
the best car or the most memorable incident
I have witnessed over the years. It is unfair, in my opinion,
to compare drivers etc. from different eras given the changes
in car technology and track design. I must admit though that
the 1971 Brown crash at Bathurst will always remain in my
mind having happened just metres away from where I was walking.
(There were just dirt walking tracks behind the fences at
Bathurst in those days)
I could ramble on I suppose but had better stop - bye |

About me:
I have been watching the V8s with dad since I was 2 months
old and would pump my legs like I was driving. I am exceedingly
self centred and if dad is paying too much attention to the
V8s or spending too much time at the V8DD I make his life
hell until his attention is all mine again.
Aspirations: To be a professional motorsport driver and become
the first female Australian Touring Car Champion and earn enough
to support my parents in a life of luxury (well, thats
what dad keeps telling me I want to be). |

About me ,
I love motorsports especially V8 Supercars. I also follow NASCAR
and F1 - anything that races - bikes , rally.
I have been following Dick Johnson since 1980. He was the Ford
underdog aussie battler against the might of the Holden Dealer
Team . Dick put everything he had on the line in 1980 to lead
the Great Race - a privateer showing the factory Holdens how
to do it . Australia stood up and noticed. Then the history
making ROCK........... . I was only 8 at the time and the man
became a true legend in my eyes. To come back and win the Great
Race the next year and pay back the fans for their support was
awesome.
Dick's Greens Tuf XE to me is my favourite car. It does pain
me to see how Dick tried to park it under some trees at Forrest
Elbow though. I still get a tear in my eye when I watch the
tape of THAT crash.....
I support his Son Steven though now . He has not had the success
of his Dad , but I'm proud to follow Junior. He is a true gentleman
, a clean racer , never a bad word about anyone and always has
time for his supporters for a chat or a photo.
I'm a very easy going bloke (it takes a lot to rile me - honest
! ) who loves a beer , being at Bathurst (where else?? ) . I
have a great Wife ( she tapes all my TV sports , ONYA Luvvy
!! xx ) of 12 yrs and my Kids are my pride and joy ( they are
Ford fans too - SBR & FPR ). and I love my Ford BA SR Falcon
.
I enjoy the V8DD , everyone in here seem to be good people -
even the silly Reds ( lol ) |

London born, NZ raised I'm now a proud
Queenslanderand hope to be an Australian citizen one day, after
all why would anyone want to live anywhere else. I'm a big fan
of WRC and obviously V8 Supercars, I've been a fan of Murph
since he joined the series because what you see is what you
get. I've always been a Holden man but I'm glad that Ford has
won the last 3 championships because it has re-invigorated the
series and the Red vs Blue battle.
I've a huge amount of respect for all the Ford fans that stayed
true through their tough years (but now it's our turn to have
our trophyback please) and enjoy the friendly discussions with
those of them that frequent the V8DD Forum.
I like to spend my spare time playing with my 2 year old daughter
and also searching out challenging back roads to use my VR SS
in the manner it was built for. The VR is my second favourite
car I've owned, the best being a Pug 106 that cornered on rails.
A supercharged MK1 MR2 was another weapon of choice but the
petrol bills were higher than the VR believe it or not. On the
rare occasions that time permits I also enjoy golf and fishing. |

I had always been a ford supporter,
that was until Craig Lowndes came along, then I was a closet
Lowndes supporter. The day that Craig made it official that
he would be driving for ford in 2001 was one I will never forget
(nor will my neighbours, bet they still have the ringing in
their ears). I have stuck by Craig through the good and the
bad and it is starting to pay off (and still would if needed).
But I'm looking forward to the day that I can change my username
to lowndesIS1.

oh and did I mention Craig Lowndes. |
