Little about myself....became interested in motorsport when I went to my first race meeting at Lakeside in Nov 1969. Watched Colin Bond hurtle himself around in a Monaro GTS 350.....and started my lifelong passion for all things Holden. During the 70's and 80's, I was a scrutineer for CAMS, and got to meet many of the drivers and see the cars up close. Hence the photo....it was great to have some one on one with Bondy during the Legends aspect of the Surfers SuperGP. Still passionate about touring cars, and still a parochial Holden supporter. My treasured collectable is my HRT cap with five Bathurst winning Holden driver signatures on it. And I catch up with V8DailyDump every day, and sometimes contribute under my name as Bondman. |

Whilst not exactly V8 Supercars ... Harry Firth is a living treasure
(& if he isn't, he should be) of this sport ... as for how we
managed to get the photos of young Riley T, watched on by proud
dad HDT_05, with Harry Firth ... let's just say that the witch works
in mysterious ways and leave it at that ... |

Have always followed the bikes over the years but only really got
involved in the V8s a few years ago when my daughter dragged me
to the finale one year at Eastern Creek. It had to be the hottest
day on earth but it was great. Since then my daughter and I have
travelled to an event or two and have stayed in the HRT Suites where
we are able to meet and greet some the drivers and have a birds
eye view of the race. Bathurst is always fun when a group of us
pile into a mini van and away we go. Now I find myself in conversations
not only on the V8s but on Moto GP, Nascar, Indy, F1s and the drags
!!!! My daughter and I have been to Clipsal the last few years but
next year we might just head down to Melbourne and see the F1s in
action just for something different |

I
never knew much about the V8's or racing until I met my husband (Ben).
He likes beer, cars, and computers lol. And I like the fine things
in life such as fancy cars, chilling on an Island sipping cocktails
and traveling to places that spells luxury!
Hanging out behind the scenes and being in touch with the races and
cars, its safe for me to say IT IS AWESOME!
Whenever I want to know the latest scoop about V8 supercar races I
turn my attention to V8DD! Its the only V8 site that I can have my
faith on that will provide me the latest details about the V8'S in
Ozzie town! :P
I love V8DD! .....and everything that comes with it ;) *wink* |

Hi
everyone my name Is Aaron, Azza for short, my Nickname of V8DD is
HRT1and2, I live in Adelaide, Single and 21 years of age. I work for
a Multi-International Engineering Consultancy firm, working hard in
their IT Department to support staff in Adelaide and Darwin.
I Started watching V8 Supercars in 2000, the first ever race I saw
was the Bathurst 1000 and I was blown away by the level of intensity
and competiveness that this great race offered. I love V8 Supercars
from many aspects, I have a lot of respect for every single driver
that jumps in one of these cars. I analysis the race from my own technical
level as well as a spectator level, I like to see a few panels rubbing
and bumpers hanging from cars, but I like to see clean and smooth
overtaking more..
I attend the Clipsal 500 every year, I recently (with some mates)
drove from Adelaide to Bathurst for the 2009 Bathurst 12 hour race,
had a blast, and will be back next year!. I also attend Mallala Raceway
meetings, at one stage I was helping out someone with a 1976 LH Torana
in the Improved Production series. And then I also go to the Rally
SA, Speedway, and the every now and then car show. I'm not a fan of
street circuits, I think there too dangerous and not an international
standard, If we want International categories (for example the Word
Touring Car Championship) to attend Australia, we need to heavily
review our current situations and by far make a suitable race track
that offers it all (like Shanghai Raceway)
I have a few dreams I want to get underway, one of them being a trip
to Barbagallo Raceway in Perth before it closes it's doors. I also
want to get an old HQ Holden and start racing, I think that would
be a blast. |

Hi all, Trenno here. I thought it's about time I put my mug on here.
I live in the rural part of the Sunshine Coast and drive trucks and
other machinery for a local skip bin company. I have a lovely Minister
of War and Finance
oops sorry Missus, and two awesome daughters
Ivy -5, and Chelsea 2. I've got a rippa shed and I have a HZ Ute which
is my 'Project Z'.
I have been a fan of motorsport ever since my father turned on the
TV in 1983 and we watched the start of the '83 Bathurst. Since then
I've been hooked. We used to go to the Maryborough Speedway or we'd
go out the back and listen to it as it was only a km away from home.
My favourite category was the Modified Production Sedans and Driver
at the time would have been Greg Raymont (Ford Cortina).
In the ATCC my favourite driver/hero was Peter Brock and like I said
in my poem ('Brockie') we used to race around the trees pretending
we were at Bathurst all taking turns to be Brock, Dick, Grice or Moffat.
In 1996 I started to follow Lowndsey as he was around the same age
as me, mentored by Brock and a young gun. When Lowndes left for 'The
Dark Side' I followed Skaifey and now, since Mark's retirement last
year, I'll have to find a new driver to support.
The first touring car event I attended was Lakeside 1996 and my first
Bathurst was 2000. This year, I'm heading to both Townsville and Bathurst
and I can't wait to catch up with some of the crew from here.
I like it here at the Dump and it's the first site I open and the
last one I close.
Cheers you lot. |

Hi
Everyone, my DD code is Devil Racer so you can put a face to the name.
I love my V8's and have been a Ford man all of my life. I am married
with a 3 year old daughter called Bella who also loves the V8's. Her
favorite driver is Frosty and she got to meet him last year at Symmons
Plains (this was very exciting!!!) Whenever we watch the telecast
she sits on the lounge and tells me every time she sees Frosty on
the TV which is very cute, but it can get a little repetitive especially
on a Bathurst weekend.
I was first introduced to motor racing at a young age and have
loved it since. I first went to Bathurst in 1987 and will never
forget it (the year of the rain and the Texaco Sierras). I love
most forms of motorsports, and have obviously taken a much greater
interest in the Nascar series since Ambrose moved across. Apart
from the wife and daughter, my pride and joy would have to be my
2003 BA XR6 Falcon - 5 years on and has not skipped a beat.
My other interests include Cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League,
a bit of AFL and of course a nice drop of red or two. |

I
currently work as a Learning Consultant with Hatch Associates in Port
Kembla, NSW. I was married to my wife Kath for 23 years till I lost
her to Melanoma Cancer just before Xmas, and have 3 children; Nicole
21, Simone 15, and Steven 12 (in photo at Bathurst 2007), and am a
proud Grandad of little Felicity May (my little rabbit)
I first got the motorsport bug back in the late 60's going to the
speedway with my Dad and Uncle. My Dad used to do a lot of spannering
for some of the drivers, and also later on helped with the construction
and development of the Bathurst Pacers and Chargers in the 70's.
I attended my first touring car event in 1976 with Charlie O'Brien,
(he was going out with my next door neighbour), at the now defunct
Amaroo Park Raceway. Though I try to get to as many events as possible
these days, my main event is of course Bathurst. My first time was
the Saturday of the 1979 event, and my first full weekend was 1982.
Since then I have racked up 23 visits, having missed 1987, 1988,
1999, and 2001 due to family and/or overseas work commitments. I
currently organise the FOLDEN Bathurst Campgroup each year which
had its 5th anniversary at Bathurst last year, and it was the 2nd
get together with the V8DD's for the spit roast on the Saturday
night.
Lastly, I collect die-cast model cars, of which I have over a 100,
and also play lawn bowls, golf, enjoy a little fishing, and now
spending quality time with my family. I look forward to seeing as
many of you as possible this year at Bathurst.

V8S,
F1, WRC, Rugby, Golf (playing, not watching), Cricket and anything
to do with the coast.
My dad had Fords, including an XW Fairmont and a bronze XA Falcon
with the tan vinyl roof. Pity about the vinyl seats in summer
I've had my own share of Fords: XRGT replica, XT Fairmont, XD Fairmont
351, XF Fairmont and now the BA XR8.
My racing memory goes back to the Ford 1-2 finish in 1977, which
Ford then used in their ad campaigns. I finally got hooked after
watching Dick Johnson drive around Bathurst in the Tru-Blu XD Falcon.
My allegiance is with SBR and DJR. They were one big happy family
a few years ago, so there's no struggle following both.
Born in Canberra but have lived/worked all around this beautiful
country thanks to my job. They have even sent me overseas. Let me
tell you, we have it good in this country compared to some. That
being said, if I could get a posting to the UK for a couple of years
I'd be gone.
I've been in the same job now for 19 years and have no real intentions
of leaving. They have looked after me pretty well and the variety
has been the equivalent of starting new jobs every couple of years.
A single lad. It's just me and the fish at home. They're easy to
bath and easy to walk. They also don't talk much but geeze, they
know how to drink. So why don't I have a good woman? If I knew that,
I'd probably have one!
