Hi everyone, it’s V8SGR8. The pic, ‘team Bright’, is myself & my 2 kids Jaz & Mitch at Clipsal last year. We attend every year, along with my sister, for the full 4 days.
General admission, CBC corner, mixin’ it (read in to that ‘stirring’) with the Holden mob, fast cars, fumes, Bourbons and music….wouldn’t have it any other way ;)
I’m a FORD girl through & through! The first ford I recall Dad having was a Prefect and from there it’s been – XL, XM, XT, XB, XC, XD
My brother’s had a couple – XW & XC, and then sadly moved on to Holdens. CRAZY! There’s even been a couple of Cortinas in there somewhere.
I’ve had an XF, currently have an EF so I suppose next it’ll be a BF? Really want a manual XR8 in purple! Not so easy to find.
I love motorsport, cars, motorbikes and the open road. I don’t mind gettin’ grease under my nails and became expert at replacing XF door handles. My previous home had a 20x30 shed with pit so I used to do my own oil changes and change simple things like plugs, leads, alternators, petrol & water pumps, radiators, etc. My first car was a 2nd hand Austin mkII with east-west motor for $150. It didn’t take long B 4 the motor blew so my dad taught me how to recondition a motor. Now a days it’s too complicated under the bonnet, and with no shed, I leave it to the experts.
I remember the days of Rowley Park & luckily we still have Mallala, Speedway City and a few other country tracks for racing.
I’d love to go to Bathurst with the kids & my dream is to get to every race of the season in one year. So, until then it’s Clipsal, and clear the calendar every V8 race weekend & sloth out in front of the TV.
Good luck to all teams in 2010, enjoy the racing fellow Dumpsters and watch those FORDS win!
PS I believe Frosty, Courtney & Van Gis will be stand-outs this season. |
