Mostert's late move seals podium in Race 11
With a pass of Car 88 into Turn 6 on Lap 43 of 50, Chaz Mostert (No. 55 Supercheap Auto Ford Mustang) claimed third place in Race 11 at the Perth SuperNight, his fourth podium finish of 2019, and the 43rd of his career.

All four Tickford Racing Mustangs finished in the top ten in Race 11, with Will Davison (No. 23 Milwaukee Racing Ford Mustang) sixth, Cameron Waters (No. 6 Monster Energy Ford Mustang) eighth, and Lee Holdsworth (No. 5 The Bottle-O Ford Mustang) ninth.

The pairing of Mostert and Holdsworth has now taken third in the teams' championship, while Holdsworth has climbed to 13th in the drivers'. Mostert remains third in the drivers' title race, ahead of Davison in sixth and Waters in 11th.

The Perth SuperNight concludes Saturday with Practice 3 at 1:05 p.m. AWST, followed by knockout qualifying at 3:50 and Race 12 kicking off at 6:45.

"It was a massive balance change between day and night here. The problems we had through qualifying took a 180 flip for the race. I think we've got a pretty good direction now for qualifying, and a good idea of what to expect tomorrow night as well. It was a great strategy tonight, we gained a few spots and had a good start, and a pretty good race car generally. We just need to nail a few things to tune it up to be a top five car."

"We made really good improvements for quali after struggling in practice. Tonight our strategy didn't quite work, we got stuck behind (Nick) Percat, we pitted to try and get some clean air and he came out straight in front of me. We were much quicker than we looked, but dirty air affected us the whole race. My foot got quite hot towards the end of the race, so I was battling that, but all in all a good result for the team."

"It's fantastic. It's been a couple of rounds since we've gotten a trophy, so it's great here to come to Perth, and obviously the Pirtek Perth SuperNight has been pretty cool. I didn't expect to get third, I was kind of in a (Triple Eight Race Engineering) sandwich there in the dying stages of that race. I'm glad Jamie (Whincup) struggled a bit more on tyres than me, and I was able to get the pass done and just knuckle down for the last couple laps. I didn't expect to be up here, but it shows that we've made some improvements with the car."

"The race went well. I'm disappointed with qualifying, we just missed the boat a little bit with our set up with qualifying, but certainly tenth to sixth is as good as we could do. I got a good start, stayed out late, I think the strategy worked well and we had a pretty good car, particularly in the second stint. Getting through a few cars was a bit tricky, I lost a little bit of time getting through a few cars, but it's always fun coming home strong. Once I got clear air, we were quite speedy. It was fun coming home strong, and all in all it was a rewarding recovery from a frustrating qualifying."

Rod Nash, co-owner
"Overall it's a great result for the team, and a great reward for the crew. To put four cars in the top ten in this championship takes a big team effort, and to top it off with a trophy is fantastic. The boys came back with pretty straight cars, and we're pretty pleased with the pace, so we'll work at it tonight and hopefully have another strong go tomorrow."

DUNLOP SUPER2 SERIES
Thomas Randle (No. 5 Skye Sands Ford Falcon FG X) scored his second consecutive top five of the season by finishing fifth in Friday's Race 4 at Barbagallo Wanneroo Raceway. After starting sixth, the 23-year old picked up a spot early and held onto fifth, with an effort for fourth spoiled when he was held up by a lapped car in the dying stages. Still, Randle climbs three spots to eighth in the overall standings with a day to go on the weekend. Super2 action continues Saturday with Race 5 qualifying at 1:50 p.m. AWST, and Race 5 at 5:15 p.m.

"It was a good points day for us, so it's hard to be upset with fifth, but I felt I could have had a go for fourth if I hadn't been held up. Brodie (Kostecki) was off the lead lap and came out of the pits in front of me and I nearly lost a spot getting stuck behind him. It's frustrating, but again, a pretty good result in the end. We'll give the Skye Sands Falcon a tune up overnight and have another crack tomorrow."
