Mostert third again on Sunday in Ipswich
Repeating his result from Saturday at the Century Batteries Ipswich SuperSprint, Chaz Mostert (No. 55 Supercheap Auto Ford Mustang) finished third in Race 20, his ninth podium of 2019 and the team's fourth straight race with at least one car on the podium. Mostert - who has now finished third in three consecutive races at Ipswich - remains fourth in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship standings as the championship concludes the ninth of 15 rounds on the 2019 calendar.

Following his runner-up performance on Saturday, Will Davison (No. 23 Milwaukee Racing Ford Mustang) finished fifth in Sunday's 200-kilometre race, with Cameron Waters (No. 6 Monster Energy Ford Mustang) also repeating his Saturday result with a sixth on Sunday.

After a seventh-place finish on Saturday, Lee Holdsworth (No. 5 The Bottle-O Ford Mustang) and his The Bottle-O Racing Team made several changes to the No. 5 Mustang which ultimately did not pay dividends, as Holdsworth qualified 12th. With parc fermé conditions enforced after qualifying in Ipswich, the team could not make changes to their car set up, and Holdsworth struggled to a 14th-place finish in the 65-lap race, however he still retains tenth in the series standings.

Supercars returns to The Bend Motorsport Park August 23-25 for The Bend SuperSprint, the tenth round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship season.

"It was a disappointing day. We took a big swing at it with set up overnight to try and improve the race balance, and we made a big step backwards. We were stuck with it for the race, I could feel after quali that it wasn't going to be a good race car. But we've learned something from it, I'm looking forward to a test day to sort of open up the toolbox a little bit. I suppose the positive thing is we know we can reset and get our consistent top ten car back, but we want more than that, which is why we're searching and trying these things at the moment."

"It wasn't a bad day. I thought we made some improvements in qualifying, but in the race I just had the pace for sixth. We were a little bit off the guys in front of us, and we had a pretty solid pace margin over the guys behind, so a boring old day, a solid weekend for us for points, which is good. It would have been better not to finish sixth – Car 6 in sixth so many times – but it is what it is. It was a bit of a tough weekend, obviously being crook early on in practice probably put us on the back foot a little bit, but we'll bounce back at Tailem Bend."

"Consistency this weekend's been good, a couple thirds, and I think through practice I was third. So yeah, look, it's good for our team, but a lot of work to do with these two guys beside us (Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen) and Jamie (Whincup) across the weekend have been absolute stand outs...Today we lost a little bit of performance compared to yesterday but I definitely (think) if I had the car I had yesterday I still wouldn't have had anything for these two."

"All in all, really good to consolidate, another really good day in the books. We just lost a little bit of balance today in qualifying, and that sort of carried through into the race. We still had a really good car, we were still able to stay in touch with the leaders for the whole race, but I just didn't have the front grip that I had yesterday. But a really clean race, at the end, we got better as the race went on, obviously caught (Jamie) Whincup and nearly got him at the end but just ran out of tyres and couldn't stay near him. Disappointed not to be able to pull a move for fourth, but all in all a great weekend, everyone did a great job, no mistakes at all. Definitely very encouraging, and I'm looking forward to The Bend."

Tim Edwards, Team Principal
"It was a pretty good day for us, and all things considered a very good weekend for the team. We put together some great results and while today wasn't quite as flash as yesterday we still added to the growing trophy collection back at the workshop. That said, we're still chasing that top step, so we aren't near content. We've got a test day coming up with a lot of important items to get through, and hopefully we'll roll out even stronger at The Bend."

On Ford clinching the Supercars manufacturer's title:
"It's been great having Ford back in the sport, they've been a very supportive group at the track and have been genuinely energised being back in Supercars, so it's great to have the Blue Oval back on top in this category. Obviously it's been a huge effort between our team, DJR-Team Penske, Ford Australia, and Ford Performance, and the results speak for themselves. It is frustrating that we've only brought one of those wins, but we're working hard to add to the Ford tally in the back half of the year."
