Supercars to boost 2020 FTA coverage
Network 10 is set to show at least one Supercar race live each event weekend on free-to-air TV in 2020.

AutoAction reports that every SuperSprint round will see the Sunday race shown live on Network 10, in addition to Fox Sports' coverage.

This is in addition to the continued coverage on Network 10 of events as shown in 2019, such as the Adelaide 500, Australian Grand Prix, Bathurst 1000 and Newcastle 500.

Both the Perth and Sydney SuperNight events are expected to be show live on Network 10, Saturday night during prime time.

Fans have bemoaned the reduced free-to-air coverage of Supercars since the start of the current broadcast rights agreement in 2015. Supercar teams have too be keen to see increased free-to-air coverage to help boost the series appeal with fans and sponsors.

Ratings on Fox Sports were initially underwhelming for Supercars, but have steadily and strongly built year-on-year.

A new broadcast rights agreement will commence in 2021, with Supercars said to have commenced negotiations with broadcasters. The 2020 broadcast agreement may be a preview of future broadcast arrangements.
