Tickford completes pre-season test ahead of Mount Panorama 500
Tickford Racing has completed its 2021 pre-season test at Winton Motor Raceway, in preparation for the season-opening Mount Panorama 500 next weekend. The team's three Ford Mustangs turned 376 combined laps on a very warm Friday in northern Victoria, totalling over 1,100 kilometres on the day and building knowledge of the team's package heading into the new season.
Jack Le Brocq (No. 5 Truck Assist Ford Mustang) recorded 130 laps across the nine-hour day, while Cam Waters (No. 6 Monster Energy Ford Mustang) completed the majority of 135 laps turned by the No. 6 Mustang, James Moffat splitting time with the 2020 championship runner-up. James Courtney (No. 44 Boost Mobile Ford Mustang) shared time with reigning Dunlop Super2 champion Thomas Randle in the Boost Mobile Racing entry, the duo completing 111 laps of the 3.0-kilometre circuit.
Tickford Racing heads back to Bathurst next week, as the 2021 Supercars Championship kicks off with a single-driver event at the Mount Panorama 500.

"It's been a really good day here at Winton. We obviously had the shakedown yesterday and yeah, a full day of testing today. Clocked up 130 laps by myself there without a cool suit, old Matty Roberts (Team Manager) put me through our paces by not getting us dry ice, but yeah, awesome day. Great to be back, learnt heaps out of it, and yeah, it's awesome. I'm looking forward to just getting to Bathurst now, move forward, and see what we can do."

"We had a massive test day today at Winton, clocked a heap of laps and learnt a fair bit. It's so hot here today, it was pretty tough driving the car, but it was really good being back in the car. Having a bit of fun, and yeah, a little bit different than the sprint car I've been driving over the summer. I'm really pumped to get to Bathurst now.

"It's good to finally drive the car in anger, the first time this year, which is a great feeling. It's good to be back around the team and working with the boys again. My first time working with Brad (Wischusen), obviously last year with Brendan (Hogan), but it's really good. That relationship is in its infancy but (we're) getting along really well, I worked closely with him last year as well. I think it was a really productive day today, we had quite an extensive programme. We lost a little bit of time in the middle part of the day with a little drama that we had when Thomas was driving the car, but all in all I think it was a really productive day. I'm pretty excited to get out there and get to Bathurst next week, and start doing some laps around the Mountain, it's a good feeling to be back in the car."
