Whincup wins Race 15 at Townsville

TeamVodafone's Jamie Whincup has won Race 15 at Townsville this afternoon. Whincup drove a controlled race to win from Toll Holden Racing Team's Garth Tander and Ford Performance Racing's Mark Winterbottom. Winterbottom and Tander jumped Whincup at the start, however Whincup made his way past both to reclaim the race lead shortly after. Team mate Craig Lowndes didn't get past the first corner when he hit the wall breaking a watts linkage, forcing the TeamVodafone driver into the pits for several laps. Jason Bright was looking at a strong performance before an over heating issue ended his day on lap 44. The big movers in the field were Jason Richards and Russell Ingall, starting 25th and 27th respectively, finished 7th and 6th. Lee Holdsworth finished 4th and James Courtney 5th rounding out the top five.
